Columbus Dad’s Weekend Top 5

If the weather man is correct, we are in for a nice weekend.

1) Waldorf Story Hour – Sprout Soup 10AM – Join Rebecah Freeling of Briar Rose Children’s Center in an interactive story time, great for toddlers and preschoolers. All Ages.

2) Family Fishing – Fryer Park, Grove City – Enjoy a morning of fishing at Rotary Lake in Fryer Park, 3899 Orders Road. Gather family members, pack up fishing gear, cameras and refreshments (no glass) and head to the fishing pond on Saturday, June 6. Pick a spot on a dock or fish from the shore between 8 a.m. and noon at this catch-and-release even

3) Birds! – Glacier Ridge Metro Parks – Sunday 2pm – Discover how birds take care of their young through games and activities. Ages 3-5.

4) Egypt Exibit at COSI – Unearth the secrets of an ancient Egyptian world in an interactive exhibition featuring the hidden stories and artifacts of a lost civilization.

5) Go Ride A Bike, Hike, or Walk – Take advantage of the great weather and get outside.

The Columbus Dad’s Weekend Top 5

This weekend there is a bunch going on around Columbus. Here is a rundown of my top 5

1) The Columbus Children’s Theater Mother Goose – Friday 3pm and 6pm

CCT is  doing a special Mother Goose story time at The Childrens Place in Polaris at 3pm and Easton at 6pm. It is a free show and the kids can have their pictures taken with classic fairy tale characters and get a free book with Mother Goose rhymes.

This event is for all ages.

2) At Nightfall at the Wexner Center for the Arts - Friday 7pm and Saturday 2pm

At Nightfall features a tiny people who occupy the territory where shade and light intermingle. Right now there is a special buy one get one ticket deal available on the Wexner Centers website.

This show is intended for ages 4 and up.

3) Kidzartz - Saturday 3pm-7pm

Over 50 young artist are participating in this years event. Admission is free and will also have face painting, interactive kids music and movement and  hands on art

4) Family Evening Fishing at Blendon Woods – Friday6pm-9pm

Bring your fishing gear or borrow some of theirs and dont forget to bring the kids to this catch and release fishing outing at Blendon Woods. This is a free event.

This event is intended for all ages.

5) Build a toy Hang glider at Lowes – Saturday 10am

Local Lowes have their kids workshops this weekend and they are building a toy hang glider. Kids can follow simple instructions and put this kit together

This event is intended for children over 5 years old
