The Death of a Camera

Posted by columbusdad on May 21, 2009

It was a busy day. I was running around with the kids trying to keep them entertained while still getting errands done. We arrived home from getting the bikes tires filled with air and the kids played outside for a bit before we had to run our next errand.

I decided I wanted to take some pictures of the kids. The camera was nowhere to be found. I searched for a little while then asked Cedric if he had knew where the camera was. To my relief  he said yes and ran outside. I followed him to the car where he looked  confused. I asked him where the camera was and he pointed to the back of the car, “It was on the back of the car.” I filled with dread and asked “When was this?”. “Before we went to get the bikes fixed.”

Not Good.

I quickly put the kids back in the car and retraced my route. Sure enough around the first turn I found it, or rather what was left of it. Even if the camera had survived the fall from the car, it did not survive being run over by several cars.

I picked up the pieces that were big enough to identify and I was amazed to find the memory card from the camera still intact.

After that I had the “fun” of telling Alissa what had happened to her camera. Needless to say I was in the dog house for a while.
