I Wish I was a little bit Older

Posted by columbusdad on May 22, 2009

My son Heath loves his big brother. Granted they don’t always get along, but Heath desperately wants to do everything Cedric does. This started from a very young age when he attempted jumping off the couch with not-so-successful results. A good number of his bumps and bruises are because of this need to imitate.

I am sure this is typical of younger siblings but it is very interesting to see Heath try to be like his big brother. I am also amazed at how observant he is. I take him with me to Cedric’s karate class and he watches Cedric and the other kids on the mat. He even joins in from the sidelines and knows many of the stances.

Same with baseball. I am helping coach Cedric’s T-Ball team and Heath comes along and watches. The other day he got in line with the other boys to take his turn hitting the ball.

I think being 3 is hard for any kid, but I think being 3 with an older brother is even harder.

Standing Room Only

Posted by columbusdad on April 26, 2009

We went to the Clippers game today. Apparently everyone else in Columbus had the same idea.

It was standing room only. We had to wait in line for at least 30 min to get tickets. Luckily we were able to find some folding chairs to sit on.

The kids had a blast but I think the highlight for the boys was either meeting the mascots or running the bases after the game.

I really like Huntington Park. It is much smaller than the old park and I do not think their is a bad seat in the place. We had general admission seats so we moved a couple of time just to watch from different spots.

Take me out to the Ballgame!

Posted by columbusdad on April 16, 2009

The Columbus Clippers open up their new stadium this Saturday. Huntington Park looks amazing. I can’t wait to take my boys.

Tickets are pretty reasonable which is what I love about minor league baseball.

Reserved Seats; $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and children twelve years old and under.

Assigned Bleacher Seat General Admission: $6 for adults, $3 for seniors and children twelve years old and under.

For an even better deal Bob Evans is sponsoring Family days every Sunday home game. For $15 you can get a family pass that is good for 2 adults and up to 4 children. Local Bob Evans restaurants have coupons for $3 off which means you can get the family pass for $12.

Take the kids out, buy them a hotdog and enjoy the boys of summer.
